Express Gratitude

It’s the most wonderful time of the Year!

I invite you today to create a micro-habit (I read this in a magazine and it stuck). A small habit that seems doable and not overwhelming.

Express Gratitude.

Gratitude shifts our mindset towards happiness, and don’t we all work hard to have a comfortable life which hopefully translates to our version of happiness? So why not incorporate this small tool towards that.

Benefits

People who practice the attitude of gratitude create positivity in their lives. These are the ones who

- Enjoy life’s little blessings

- Feel and create abundance in their lives

- Stronger friendships / connections / emotions

- Better career / productivity

- Better health and energy

- More optimistic, less self-centered, higher self-esteem

What steps can you take?

Start by manually writing the things you are thankful for in your life. Your health (even if you have some ailment, there has to be something that’s right), your body, your mind, you loved ones, the material comforts, a friend, a mentor, anything and everything goes.

Feel it: When you make an entry in the journal, feel the feeling that comes up in gratitude associated to that thing or person.

Speak It: Verbalize it when you can, it sinks at a deeper level of consciousness and may sometimes bring about a vulnerability. Being vulnerable helps deepen and strengthen connections / relationships with others and your self.

Meditate: Take a few minutes to only focus on the feeling of thankfulness. Think about the person or situation and imagine being surrounded by that blessing.

Attitude: Once it becomes a habit, the goal isn’t to just write, but rather make it your default attitude towards life (*mostly!)

Pay attention to positivity around you until you begin to see them naturally.

I am grateful to you, my readers, for giving me the space and time to share my learnings.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
